Potato Cakes

Potato Cakes

For this dish, you can not even cook specially mashed potatoes, but you can use the one that was left with lunch or dinner.

Prepare such flat cakes simply and quickly (especially if you take ready mashed potatoes), they turn out very tasty and satisfying.

To prepare, take:
100 grams of flour;

5-6 medium potatoes (or ready mashed potatoes of the same amount of potatoes);

1-2 garlic cloves (you can not add);

1 egg;

1 tablespoon vegetable oil;

a small bunch of any fresh greens;

salt and pepper (black. mol.).

These ingredients are enough to cook about ten potato tortillas.

If you already mash the mashed potatoes, then skip the next step.

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until cooked (about thirty minutes), then drain off the excess water (leaving a little water so that the puree is not dry) and mash the potatoes, adding a little butter. Cool mashed potatoes to room temperature.

In the finished mashed potatoes, break the egg.

Pour in vegetable oil.

Finely chop the washed and dried greens with a knife and add it to the puree.

If you add garlic, pass it through a press and send to mashed potatoes.

Salt and pepper ingredients to your own taste.

Pour flour into puree.

Mix the prepared products very well. Stir, of course, better with your hands, as the dough will turn out dense.

Sprinkle a little flour over the work surface and roll the resulting dough onto it. The thickness of the rolled dough should be three to five millimeters.

Using a suitable size plate, cut circles out of the dough. Do this carefully, as the dough is quite brittle.

Using a spatula, transfer the cakes one by one to the pan with well-heated vegetable oil. Fry each cake on both sides until golden.

To speed up the cooking process can bake tortillas in the oven. To do this, cover the baking sheet with paper, brush with a little vegetable oil, put the cakes and bake them in the oven at 180 degrees for fifteen or twenty minutes.
